Wayward dolphin eventually dies - New York Post

Is this what we have come to? It would have caused more stress to try and rescue him than to let him suffer in a toxic cesspool? God help us!

" The Window"

                                 Works in progress

I will be posting works that are underway and try and give you a visual feel for the often frustrating progress of a work. The failures and the small triumphs of the Artist..

This piece that I am calling " The Window" is a work in Graphite using a pastel sparingly to add color  as depth of texture.Having only been creating in pencil for two weeks it is a tad crude at this stage and may end up that way.I try not limit myself and I tend to travel places at times before I am ready.
I had no plan other than the window frame, the rest develops as I lay pencil to paper. On a good day,a piece comes via a Channel.I am just a vehicle of delivery.
Francis Bacon seemed to be near when the lower right pane came into play.. sorry Francis..eek
As usual I had a few dry spell days, then once again became open and was able to hear the piece speak. It leads I follow. Not a Rembrandt,or a Dali, but I made many small personal triumphs in the creation of this work.  Hope to have more to come..Peace  ..fk

Off to Afghanistan

Leaving Camp Atterbury Indiana for Kuwait's Ali al Salem
The first leg to camp Salerno Afghanistan.

Mid flight stopover in Shannon Ireland to take on fuel and fresh Guinness Ale for those so inclined.
For me, a chance to stretch my legs, hit a cigar, and enjoy Bailey' coffee

Going to miss home and the good life

Dave Mann motorcycle art

More of the Art of Dave Mann
sit back relax and enjoy the show...

Dave Mann Story

During the 1970's if you were a biker or even thought about being one, you knew Dave Mann.Wherever there were bikers there was Mann's work gracing the walls, tables,or clubhouse's across the world.
Dave Mann blessed the centerfold of Easy Riders Magazine for years and remains as The Greatest Biker Airbrush Artist that ever lived.
I along with countless others looked forward each month to the New addition of Easyriders, and upon opening it,like Playboy,Dave's Centerfold was the first stop, and would be revisited again and again for inspiration, desperation,or plain admiration and conversation.
Here is a small tribute to Dave.Thank you Dave for the decades of inspiration and comfort you have given to myself and others. You are truly missed

Easy Rider - Smith - The Weight

Looking back this movie was a far greater influence on me than I had imagined.Later on I also became an incredible fan and admirer of the late Dennis Hopper and his circle of friends.
It may not seem such a fantastic thing in this day of instant communication and easy media access ,but in 1969 at the age of 13 this movie (watched at a Drive In Theater) was the my saving grace, and a hope for escape in the future. Two years later I owned  my first chopper to be a 1959 XLH Sportster purchased for $500.00. and Yes It was road worthy..:)
